The postage stamp of the month April 2021 is the Irish Elk. This is a very large Russian postage stamp in a porridge format. They are impressive, powerful colors in a rich green.
The Irish Elk, also Megaloceros Giganteus, appeared on earth around 400,000 years ago and stayed until around 8,000 years ago. There are several theories that try to explain extinction. One of the newer ones assumes a change in the vegetation, which led to a lack of nutrients for the large antlers. (source: Wikipedia)
Either way, the stamp is beautiful and deserves the title of Stamp of the Month.
