The drawing is by Tawaraya Sōtatsu and is titled Anthology with Cranes.
Tawaraya Sōtatsu lived from about 1570 to 1643. He was probably born in Kyoto.
The postcrosser just wrote a few greetings. According to his address label, he is from Tokyo.
He could hardly write much either, since there were 12 stamps in total on the postcard. 10 stamps each for 1 yen.
